Format: E-book
I was getting tired of cute and fluffy contemporaries, so I was glad to pick this up. This book is very emotional and deals with so much and it’s so real! Pointe is about sexual abuse, abduction, ballet, friendship and family, it’s a book about finding yourself even if you’ve been through a lot.

Theo is passionate about ballet, she works hard to succeed. She is insecure, and you can feel those insecurities because it’s so well written. When she talks about her past she actually believed she was mature enough to do what she was doing, and nothing was wrong with what happened between her and her boyfriend at that time.

The pace of the story is the perfect pace, it doesn’t reveal too much but it doesn’t take long either. There are flashbacks throughout the book that are just in the right place, everything feels real.

This book deals with heavy topics such as bulimia and rape and abduction, and sometimes you are like “no girl” to Theo but other times you feel for her and just want to hug her and tell her everything will be alright.

Her friends are there for her and her parents are supportive and are there for her even if she doesn’t like them watching her every time to see if she eats, she doesn’t think it’s wrong to starve.

Donovan is basically the plot of the story even though he barely shows up, he was abducted and when he returns home he doesn’t talk or leave the house, but you still get to see him at the end of the book and it was perfect.

I just loved this book, just what I needed to get my mind off of school. I highly recommend it!
