Mosquitoland by David Arnold Review!

Title: Mosquitoland

Author: David Arnold

Release Date: March 3rd, 2015

My Rating: 4
 Stars

Format: E-book

This book deals with broken homes and mental illness, about a girl that runs away from home because she thinks her mom is ill. It faces society and its many dangerous routes.

She finds out her mom is in a hospital in Cleveland so she decides to run away from home and go on a road trip to go to Cleveland, I thought the story was more about the road trip and all the fun and problems on the way, but it was more about Mim finding out who she really is.

During the trip she meets a lot of people, some that are disgusting, others that are sweet and some that she wishes would be in her life forever. This is a book about finding yourself and unexpected friendships.

Most chapters start with a letter to Isabel (you find out who she is more at the end of the book), she writes about her thoughts and feelings, about stuff that happened and stuff that is happening. Most of the stuff that happened I was just like “wait, what?”

Sure the book is weird, but it’s a funny weird, and basically the message at the end it’s about friendship and love and goodbyes. I enjoyed this book and if you like books about road trips, mental illness or just simply about finding yourself then I think you will like this.
